Training Requirements
Training is to be completed in specified time upon Appointment of office pursuant to KRS 39B.020(1).

- Incident Command and Incident Management System Basic Concepts
- Mititigation benefits, methods, resources and planning
- Basic EOC
- Damage Assessment
- Hazardous Materials Awareness
- Within 2nd Full Federal Fiscal Year
- Principles of Emergency Management
- Emergency Planning
- Exercise Design and Evaluation
- LEPC Orientation
- Hazardous Materials Operations
- NIMS 300
- NIMS 400
- Disaster Assistance Programs
- Within 5th Full Federal Fiscal Year
- Governor's Emergency Management Workshop (when offered)
- Emergency Management Training (atleast 32 hours)
- Conditions
- No more than (4) hours annually of correspondence or Internet Courses
- No more than (8) hours annually of division-sponsored Emergency Management training that a local director instructs.

Local Deputy Director |

- Within each full federal fiscal year following appointment a deputy director shall successfully complete 16 hours of training from:
- Incident Command and Incident Management System Basic Concepts
- Mititigation benefits, methods, resources and planning
- Basic EOC
- Damage Assessment
- Hazardous Materials Awareness
- Conditions
- No more than (4) hours annually of correspondence or Internet Courses
- No more than (8) hours annually of division-sponsored Emergency Management training that a local director instructs.
- Shall successfully complete at least twelve (12) total hours of emergency management or administrative training in each full federal fiscal year.
