Hazardous Materials Training

The Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Training Program sponsors training for both the hazmat response community and Local Emergency Planning Committee personnel. Working in partnership with the Kentucky Emergency Response Commission (KyERC), KyEM annually sponsors courses to support the following OSHA training levels:

• Emergency Response Guidebook [ERG]
• Hazardous Materials Awareness
• Hazardous Materials Operations
• NIMS 300/400 Compliance

KyEM works with a volunteer cadre of local HazMat instructors along with paid instructors from the State's Fire/Rescue Training Program to deliver HazMat Awareness and Operations training.
