EHS Facility Emergency Response Plans
Main Content
Extremely Hazardous Substance (EHS) Emergency Response Plans are developed under the guidance of the Kentucky Emergency Response Commission (KERC) and must be included in the Local Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). The EHS plan must emphasize a coordinated response by all local emergency response organizations. EHS plans must be approved by the KERC. Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPCs) must annually review and update, where appropriate, each EHS plan and submit revisions to the KERC.
After the KERC approves an EHS plan developed by an LEPC, emergency response organizations of each city, county, urban-county government, and charter county government must respond in a manner consistent with those plans.
